Testing, certification and quality assurance

CESI is the leader of the European Market of Testing and Certification of electromechanical components and is one of the most important players at the international level.
Tests are performed in accordance to International Standards as to IEC, ANSI, STL, local standards and clients' explicit requests. CESI is a founder member of STL (Short-Circuit Testing Liaison).
Notably, certificates and test reports coming from CESI, IPH and FGH are international recognized by utilities and electromechanical manufacturers.
They serve to prove:

• Products' Conformity to Standards
• Functionality of a new product design
• Product Quality with regard to delivery's terms
• Compliance with Safety Requirements and EU Guidelines as a pre-requisite to obtain the CE mark
• Compliance with Quality Requirements and as a pre-requisite to obtain the Product Certificate.

CESI can make available for its Clients the experience and knowledge acquired in keeping the laboratory facilities in line with the state of the art and the best most international advanced practices. CESI provides Certification of quality and environmental management systems, with CSQ mark (according to UNI EN 9000 standards) in the following sectors: electromechanical, electronic, telecommunications, automation, IT, energy. CESI is a well recognised Certification and Ispection Body according EN45011 and ISO/IEC17020 standards respectively. CESI is also a well known Notified Body for the ATEX EU Directive for equipment used in potentially explosive atmosphere as well Certification Body and Testing Lab for IECEx Certification Scheme. Plant inspections services are focused to verify the compliance of plant and/or devices to regulations, standards and tech spec. In particular CESI deliver inspections to photovoltaic plants, inspections to electric load interruption devices in industrial plants and inspections to industrial plants for ATEX compliance.

CESI works as a training institute for the electric sector delivering in particular courses for personnel working on electric equipment and systems.

Quality assurance services are mainly focused to assess the quality of specific production lines, basically in supporting a manufacturer in getting more confident on these issues, especially when preparing to export to other Countries or approaching new important and exigent Customers. CESI can deliver a global service covering assessment, control and surveillance of suppliers of electric components. Starting from the Assessment and review of customer technical specifications to evaluate their conformity to national and international standards up to in field verification and witnessing of final and pre-commissioning tests. Quality Assurance can be addressed to a single equipment or to a complex system and thanks to its accumulated experience CESI can cover all kind of equipment from LV to UHV both AC and DC.
