Client Challenge

To evaluate the impact of the new link on the Italian electric grid, and defining the most attractive size consistent with the transfer capacity of the system and the security margins.

What we've done

• electrical, environmental and economic data collection and analysis, definition of scenarios
• execution of a preliminary simplified scenario analysis (possible location of the interconnection referred to the submarine cable)
• definition of the required technical conditions for the synchronous operation of Malta with the UCTE (AC interconnection)
• evaluation of energy exchanges and prices
